It all began on April 30, 1962, when a baby boy was born to Harold G. Martin, Sr., and Mary B. Debouse Martin and was named Lucious Durnel Martin. Better known as "Hoss Martin" by his friends, he joined the First Baptist Church of Rentiesville at an early age. He was a faithful member until he moved away.
He grew up in the community and attended Checotah Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1980. He played Basketball as well as Football and was an all around guy in the community.
He worked many jobs in Checotah and Eufaula, including Nichols Super Saver, Eufaula Police Department and Checotah Police Department. Later, he moved to Oklahoma City, where he worked for Target Department Storee and ultimately for the National Oil Well Varco Company.
His time with us on earth came to a close on Monday, February 23, 2009 from Oklahoma City.
Those who went before him were his father, and his grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memory; a son, Mason Martin [Candice]; 2 daughters, Sarah Johnson [Brian], Colgate, OK and Samantha Etchison, Cehcotah; a grandson, Patrick; his mother, Mary B.
