Henry “Chuck” Bailey of Kingston, OK was born March 18, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK to Clayton “Red” Perry and Lottie Mae Bailey. Chuck went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 16, 2016 in Durant, OK at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 29 days.

 

Chuck was raised in the Covington-Garber oil field, and graduated from Covington-Douglas High School. On March 1, 1985 Chuck and Joyce Skaggs were united in marriage in Del City, OK. He worked in construction as a general contractor. In his early years he was a member of Bethel-Temple Assembly of God. Chuck was very social and loved people. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, “tinkering”, and traveling with Joyce in the RV. He dearly loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

 

Chuck is preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Mae Bailey, who raised him; his parents; brothers Jerry, Jimmy, and Jetty; and sisters Hazel Bailey, and Delma Ward

 

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; daughters, Leasa Bailey Murphy and husband Ian, of Greenville, SC, Christi Bailey Moore and husband Mark, of Fort Smith, AR; step-daughters, Karen Gray of Perry, OK, and Jolene Jackman and husband AJ, of Mcloud, OK; step-sons, Billy Downum of Midwest City, OK, and Therran “Hoss” Gentry and wife Denise, of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Sarah Moore of Fayetteville, AR, Sydney Moore of Fort Smith, AR, Trae Bright and Chance Gray of Perry, OK, Tiffany Taylor of Moore, OK, Ashley Taylor, Piper Kalthoff, Daniel Downum, Isabel Downum, and Ansol Downum, all of Midwest City, OK, Britt Jenkins of Del City, OK, and Alex Gentry of Pensacola, FL; great-grandchildren, Roxy Taylor and Landon Bannister, both of Moore, OK, and Ethan Robinson of Del City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  

 

Services to celebrate the life of Chuck will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Little Coweta Church in Lenna, OK, with Reverend Gary Hawkins and Ben O’Dell officiating.

 

Interment will follow at Hawkins-McIntosh Cemetery in Stidham, OK with Mark Moore, Dan “Billy” Downum, AJ Jackman, Therran “Hoss” Gentry, Ian Murphy and Trae Bright as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday, February 19, 2016 from 6-8 PM.
