W. E. “Skip” Hendricks passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 surrounded by his family.
He was born March 1, 1946 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Roscoe and Flora Hendricks. Skip served his country by joining the Marines where he served in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he married Glenda Shropshire on February 1, 1969. They resided in Oceanside, California the remainder of his time in service. Skip and Glenda later returned to Oklahoma where he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol where he served for over 20 years before retiring.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Bogue and Pat Brobst.
He is survived by his wife Glenda of the home; two sons, Dan Hendricks and wife Lindsey of St. Paul, MN., Evan Hendricks and wife Kelena of Cabot, AR.; two granddaughters, Samantha Hendricks and Julia Hendricks of Ramsey, MN.; two sisters, Shirley Boze of Van Buren, AR., Dorothy Coleman of Checotah, OK.; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends 6:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral
Home.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m.,
Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with
Chaplain Sam Garner officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood
Cemetery in Eufaula, Oklahoma with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Honor
Guard serving as pallbearers.
Funeral services are under the
direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York
Street, Muskogee, OK.
