TAHLEQUAH – Services for Audrey K. Yandell will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Hart Funeral Chapel with Brother Marion Faye Graves officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah. Pallbearers will be Ted Kelley, Joe Kelley, Kevin Swanson, Donnie Sawyer, Casper Petty, Dr. Don Brotherton, and Randy Howard.

Audrey K. Yandell the daughter of John and Clara (Lee) Kelley was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Haskell, and departed this life on July 27, 2011, in Muskogee at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Audrey enjoyed life and had a passion for teaching. She taught for over 20 years and was the first teacher of first graders at the Greenwood Elementary School in Tahlequah.
She enjoyed basketball, baseball and softball. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, sewing and being outside. Audrey had a tremendous love for her family. She loved rocking her grand babies, and she enjoyed teaching them how to read and write. Audrey touched many lives and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joel C. Yandell Sr.; brothers, J.C. Kelley, Bill Kelley and Johnny Kelley; sisters, Eunie Hefley, Gladys Cook and Clara Mae Parson; and one grandson, Jeremy Glad.
She is survived by a loving family, which includes her children Jan Brotherton and husband Len of El Dorado, Ark., Joel C. Yandell Jr. of Muskogee, and David W. Yandell and wife Lori of Tahlequah; brother Jack Kelley of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren Carol Brotherton, Dr. Don Brotherton and wife Fran, Nicki Arriaga, Genny Swanson and husband Kevin and Jessica Petty and husband Casper; a special friend, Iva Lee Quetone, and eight great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
