Bobbie Rae Ledbetter, 73 year old lifelong Checotah area resident, passed away
on Thursday, January 20, 2005 in Muskogee, OK. She was born August 22, 1931 in
Checotah to Robert Henry and Maggie Inez (Self) North. Bobbie graduated from
Checotah High School with the class of 1949. She married her high school
sweetheart Billy Ray Ledbetter on October 6,1951 in Checotah. Together they
owned and operated the Ledbetter Feed Store in Checotah for many years. They
were members of the First Baptist Church, Checotah, where she taught the five
year olds Sunday School Class for thirty years. Preceding Bobbie in death were
her parents.
Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Bill of the home; two daughters
Janet and husband Bill Trout of Bartlesville, and Brenda and her husband Barry
Howell of Checotah; one son, Dennis and wife Jann Ledbetter of Checotah, eight
grandchildren Drew and wife Danae Ledbetter of Fayetteville, AR, Wesley
Ledbetter of Tulsa, Ryan and wife Emily Trout, Jonathan Trout, and Jamie Trout
all of Bartlesville, Bailey, Bond and Branson Howell all of Checotah; four
sisters, Phyllis and husband Don Voigt of Council Hill, Joan and husband James
Moore of Checotah, Patty and husband Jim Potts of Locust Grove and Delores and
husband Carl Lester of Eufaula; several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 in the Checotah
First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in
Greenlawn Cemetery with grandsons, Drew Ledbetter, Wesley Ledbetter, Bailey
Howell, Bond Howell, Branson Howell, Ryan Trout and Jonathan Trout serving as
casket bearers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Mortuary 211 W. Okmulgee,
Checotah, OK 918-473-6821.
