Funeral services for “Kathie”¯ Green will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Roylia Akins officiating and burial following in Hochatown Cemetery.

Kathie Green, of Hugo, OK passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 79. “Kathie”¯ Green was born May 21, 1930 in St. Louis, Oklahoma the daughter of William Richard and Janie Oreene (Davis) Persinger. She married Toy John Green Sr. in Durant, OK in 1957 and has lived in Hugo since 1974. Kathie worked at the Southwestern Bell telephone company in the early years of her marriage and attended the Church of Christ. She invented the word Betty¯ the homemaker because of the dedication to her family and home. She enjoyed fishing, Blue Grass Festivals and going out to eat with her family.

Kathie Green was preceded in death by her husband: Toy John Green Sr.; one son: Tony Green; one daughter: Kay Rosenthal; one brother: Eugene Persinger; and two sisters: Lorene Powell and Peggy Wehba.

Kathie is survived by two sons: Lewis and wife Joyce Green of Hugo, OK, and T.J. Green Jr. of Hugo, OK; three daughters: Carla and husband Mike Stowe of Paris, TX, Barbara and husband David Sorensen of Sheriden, WY, and Johnnie Laas of Georgetown, TX: two sisters: Pauline Boswell of Mojava, CA, and Billie Eaton of Chickasha, OK; three brothers: Raymond Persinger of Sobol, OK, Donnie Persinger of Cement, OK, and Tommy Persinger of Antlers, OK; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 28, 2009 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
