Franklin Devon Woods was born on March 13, 1939 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Denzil and Florence Woods, he was the second of five children.  He was raised in Blanchard and then moved from there to Norman, Oklahoma where he worked as a truck driver for 40 years and continued to do various other jobs in his lifetime until he retired in 2000.  Frank was a wonderful man who lived life to the fullest.  He was a good hard working man who was liked by many and a friend to everyone.  He was always the first one to extend a helping hand when needed and never was one to complain if the job was to hard.  He found joy in the little things in life and never asked or took more than he deserved.  If there was something to do you can bet he would be the first on the scene and the last one to leave.  Frank loved his family and he loved being with them any time he could.  Holidays were especially his favorite part of life because his family all came together and it was a time that he truly cherished and ones he looked forward to every year.  His hobbies included playing bingo, playing pool, spending time with the elderly and playing cards and dominos with his family and friends at H & H Pool Hall in Norman.  He loved telling jokes to everyone he met and if your sides hurt from laughing then he knew it was a job well done.

Franklin is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Sherman and husband Lloyd of Purcell, Oklahoma; one brother, Denzil Woods, Jr. of Norman, Oklahoma; and a daughter, Monica Stanley of Virginia and three grandchildren, Joey Stanley, Eugene (Gene) Stanley and Jessie Stanley all of Virginia; and six nieces, Lynne Robertson and husband Joel of Purcell, Oklahoma, Angie Tarpley and husband Jimmy of Norman, Oklahoma, Kathy Woods and partner Ray Tucker of Norman, Oklahoma, Krystal Woods and partner Matt Godwin of Norman, Oklahoma, Jamie Woods, Joyce Woods all of Norman, Oklahoma; and three nephews, Michael Dodson and wife Paula of Noble, Oklahoma, Leland Woods and wife Michelle of Norman, Oklahoma and Ricky Woods of Purcell, Oklahoma; and many more great nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Treva Woods; his father and mother, Denzil and Florence Woods; two brothers, Bobby Woods and Alfred Woods and one sister, Priscilla Woods and several infant siblings.

Franklin passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home in Norman, Oklahoma with all his family and friends at his side.

We love you Frank and cherish the time and many years we were able to spend with you and will miss you so much and we all are so proud to be your family and friends.
