Longtime Washington resident, Phyllis Ann Smith, age 74 of Plano, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in Plano.
Phyllis was born February 26, 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona, the older of two children born to Delbert Deward Smith and Opal Cleota (Campbell) Smith. At an early age, Phyllis’s family packed up and moved to Oklahoma, settling in Washington. Phyllis married young, to Leroy Wyatt, and together they raised a daughter, Templa. Phyllis began working for General Motors, retiring after more than 33 years of dedicated service. She often said of her time there, that she cherished these friendships, and in many ways, they were really her 2nd family. When not working, one could find her outside, and she would rather be there, tending to her garden. Phyllis enjoyed new adventures, and traveled the world extensively. She visited many beautiful places including most of Europe and the Holy Lands. Phyllis was a woman of great faith and a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was a wonderful mother to Templa and her two cats, Boots and Jazzy, and a good friend to many. She will dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Delbert and Cleota Smith and Her brother, James Smith.
Phyllis is survived by: Her daughter, Templa Faith Wyatt of Plano, TX; Her fur family, Boots and Jazzy and A host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the Church of Christ in Washington. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery.
