Nancy Madden Slate, age 75 of Washington, passed away Wednesday December 15, 2016, at the Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell.

Nancy Jo Paeschke was born February 14, 1941, the middle child of 3 children born to Milton Howard Paeschke and Olive Blanche (Riley) Paeschke. She spent her early years in Dearborn, MI, but her father took a job in Oklahoma, leading the family to Oklahoma City. They eventually settled in Lawton where Nancy graduated high school. Nancy attended the Cameron University where she earned her Associate’s Degree. She also took some classes at the University of Oklahoma. Nancy married Bud Hardcastle and to this union, a daughter Debbie was born. She later married Aaron Madden, and this city girl moved to the Madden family farm near Washington. Nancy worked mostly as a homemaker, although she also spent several years managing Subway Restaurants. Nancy was a ‘free spirit’ who enjoyed life. She loved decorating and then redecorating her home. She was an excellent hostess and looked forward to entertaining family and friends, especially during the holidays. After Aaron’s passing, she moved to Norman and eventually Purcell. She was full of life and full of spunk, and will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Aaron Madden; Parents, Milton and Olive Paeschke and Son-in-law, Dennis Beller.

Nancy leaves behind: Her daughter, Debbie Madden of Purcell; 2 grandchildren, Staysha Beller of Wichita, KS and Aaron Hyde of Norman; 1 great granddaughter, Penelope; Her sister, Pam Levering of Okla. City; Her brother, Ward Paeschke of Ft. Smith, AR and A host of other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Washington Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell. Send online condolences @ wilsonlittle.com
