Longtime Oklahoma City resident, Forest Rippee age 92, of
Alpharetta, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home.
Forest Envor Rippee was born June 19, 1923 in Tulsa, OK to Finis Ewing Rippee and
Elizabeth Izella (Lipscomb) Rippee. At age 13, Forest and family moved to
Oklahoma City when his dad began teaching at Capitol Hill High School. He
later graduated with the Class of 1942. In February of 1943, Forest joined
the United States Army Air Corp. Not too long after, her married Wanda
Jeanne Cuppy. They made their home in South Oklahoma City where together
they raised 2 sons, Michael and Larry. Forest served his country honorably
during World War II. He was proud Patriot and Pilot of the Memphis Bell in
the War. He was honorably discharged on February 7, 1946. After returning
home, Forest worked as a commercial pilot and flew for both the Daily
Oklahoman and the Chickasha Flying Service. On October 1, 1949, he became an
Oklahoma City Fireman. While with the Fire Department, Forest continued to
fly part time and also worked as a painter. He retired as Captain after a
long and distinguishable career on June 21, 1975. That very day, he married
Alyne McAlister and they made their home in Oklahoma City. Forest was a
great story teller and fondly recalled of his many life adventures with
family and friends. He was generous and loving man, with the kindest heart.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him!
He was preceded in death by: Son, Michael Rippee; His wife, Alyne Rippee; His parents, Finis and Elizabeth Rippee; An infant brother, and Step son, Ed Dayton;
Forest leaves behind: His son, Larry Rippee and wife Jan of Midland, TX; Daughter-in-law, Tac Rippee of Indian Land, SC; Step Daughter, Jamey Mathis and husband Don of Alpharetta, GA; 6 Grandchildren, numerous Great grandchildren.
Graveside Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 11th, 2016 at the Washington Cemetery in Washington, OK. Arrangements are made by Wilson-Little Funeral Home, Purcell, OK. Send online condolences at wilsonlittle.com.
