James Elbert Owen, age 70 of Yukon, OK, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020.
He was the oldest of five born to Emerson Martin and Carrie Mae Owen (Proctor) July 27, 1949 in Brownfield, TX. James was raised in Odessa, TX and attended and graduated from Ector High School in 1967. With a football scholarship, he went on to attend Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX. After a knee injury in football, he went back to Odessa, and started working in the Oilfield. James saw the love of his life, Deborah Gay Lacey, where she was in a beauty pageant. They were married June 14, 1975 in Odessa, TX. James and his family lived in various places in the Oilfield, which included the United Arab Emirates, Scotland, London, and Anchorage, Alaska. After getting out of the oilfield industry, James got his license to become a Insurance Agent, selling insurance. He sold insurance for many years, until his health started to fail. In his spare time James enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be dearly loved and missed by all who knew him!

His parents; Emerson Martin and Carrie Mae Owen
Son, Stacey Owen.
Survivors include:
His wife Deborah Owen of the home;
Two sons, Sean Owen and wife Katy, of Palmer, Alaska;
Shane Owen and wife Erin, of Oklahoma City;
One daughter, Sabrina Owen Kelley of The Woodlands, TX;
One daughter-in-law, Rebecca Owen of Norman, Ok;
Three brothers, Sammy Owen and wife Glenda, of Seminole, TX;
Danny Owen and wife Maxine, of Midland, TX;
Roger Owen of Midland, TX;
One sister, Judy Leathers and husband Roy of Odessa, TX;
Six grandchildren, Caroline, Braiden, Ema, Gregory, Alexis and Avery.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Washington Cemetery, Washington, OK.
