Karen Louise Nelson age 60 of Purcell, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Norman Regional Hospital. She was born May 7, 1954 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was the oldest of three children born to Louis Paul Molidor and Ardith Ethelyene (Humphrey) Molidor. Karen grew up in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles, CA area. She graduated from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, CA. in 1972. Then in 1974 she moved to Oregon and lived there for five years before moving to Oklahoma. While living in Oklahoma she raised two children, Emily and Adam, and worked while attending the University of Oklahoma. She later graduated from O.U. with a BS degree in Occupational Therapy. For 22 years she worked for the Norman Public Schools as an Occupational Therapist. On May 28, 1988, Karen married David Robert Nelson of Goldsby. For 12 years they lived in Goldsby and for the past 13 years they have lived in Purcell. Karen was a faithful Christian and a member at Lighthouse Worship Center in Purcell. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed collecting rocks and making rock jewelry. What she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family during the Christmas season.

She was preceded in death by: Father, Louis Molidor;

She is survived by: Husband, David “Bobby” Nelson of the home; Mother, Ardith Molidor of Wayne; Children, Emily Carpenter and husband Joey of Tuttle, Adam Geisler of Lindsey; Step-children, Lori Nolen and husband Jimmy of Blanchard, Susan Barker and husband Josh of Norman; Sister, Susan Packard and husband Rick of Wayne; Brother, Kenneth Molidor of Luray, VA; Mother-in-law, Mardell Nelson of Goldsby; Five grandchildren, Isaac, Asher, Branden, Noah and Gage. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery.
