Delbert McClard, age 75 of Noble, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at his home.
Delbert was born January 30, 1937 in Washington, OK, the baby of 5 children born to Oscar Wayne McClard and Bertha (Brewer) McClard. He grew up in Washington and attended Washington Schools, graduating in 1955. Delbert married his true love; a young lady named Elva Joan Edwards on September 21, 1957 in Washington. They made their home in the Norman and Noble area where they raised their 3 children; son, Gary and daughters, Debra Jo and Pamela Kay. Delbert began working with ceramic tile and for nearly 50 years worked as a self employed tile setter. He also worked for the Norman Fire Department for more than 12 years. Delbert was a family man 1st; he worked hard to be a good provider and he cherished his grandchildren. Delbert loved the outdoors and was very proud of his home and acreage. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Oscar & Bertha McClard and 2 sisters, Annalois Keeler & Norma Jean Keeler.
Delbert leaves behind: His wife, Elva, of the home; His son, Gary Don McClard of Noble; 2 daughters, Debra Jo Strasbaugh and husband Richard of Norman & Pamela Kay McClard of Norman; 2 brothers, Daniel McClard and wife Karen of Choctaw & Wayne McClard and wife Myrna of Siloam Springs, AR; 2 grandsons, Nathan David Strasbaugh & Samuel Jason Strasbaugh; 1 great granddaughter, Julia Rose Strasbaugh and Many other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Wilson-Little Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little of Purcell.

She was born on
July 16, 1939 in Konawa, Oklahoma. Elva was the middle daughter of
three, born to Nathan Roosevelt Edwards and Mildred Lorene (Lowry)
Edwards. Elva grew up in Konawa and Washington, then later moved to
Chickasha where she spent her last two years in high school,
graduating with the class of 1957.
Elva married Delbert McClard, the love of her life, on Sept. 21,
1957 in Washington, OK. They made their home in Norman for a short
time, before moving to Noble in 1973. Together they raised three
children, Debra Jo, Pamela Kay and Gary Don. Elva worked as a
homemaker while her children were growing up. In 1980 she began
working for the Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District where
she later retired from in 2001.
Throughout her life, Elva enjoyed gardening and collecting peacock
figurines and peacock art. She also loved shopping online at QVC,
to buy gifts for her friends and family. Most of all, Elva enjoyed
talking to her sisters on the phone every day and spending time with
her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by:
Parents, Nathan and Mildred Edwards;
Husband, Delbert McClard on May 14, 2012;
She is survived by:
Two daughters, Debra Jo Strasbaugh and husband Richard of Norman,
Pamela Kay McClard of Noble,
One son, Gary Don McClard of Noble.
Two sisters, Janet Atnip of Washington,
Jean Edwards of Norman;
Two grandsons, Nathan David Strasbaugh and Samuel Jason Strasbaugh.
One great granddaughter, Julia Rose Strasbaugh.
Her cat, Charlie; and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 3, 2018 at
Wilson-Little Funeral Home chapel in Purcell.
Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery.
