Carleta June Little age 83 of Newcastle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 . She was born on July 26, 1933 in Washington, Oklahoma. She was the only child born to Curtis John Archer and Stella (Duckett) Archer. After her father passed away, she was raised by her grandparents, Dan and Manda Duckett. Carleta grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1951. During her senior year before graduating, she married Larry Medierse Little. They were married on March 9, 1951 and later raised three children, Ricky, Dena and Cory. Carleta and Larry first made their home in Washington before moving to California. They lived in California for ten years from 1952-1962 where all of their children were born. In 1962 they moved back to the Washington and Goldsby area, then in 1977 they moved to Newcastle where they live today. Carleta worked hard as a homemaker and many years as a retail sales clerk. She had worked for TG &Y and later in a fabric shop. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making many of her children’s cloths. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cooking. She was a faithful Christian and was a member of the Jesus Alive Church in Newcastle for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Curtis Archer and Stella Duckett Archer O’Brien, Grandparents, Dan and Manda Duckett;
She is survived by: Husband, Larry Little of the home in Newcastle, Three children, Ricky Little and wife Paula Jean of Newcastle, Dena Luttrell of Newcastle, Cory Little and wife Carol of Newcastle; eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, two cousins that are like her sisters, Amelia (Duckett) Campbell and husband Billy of Norman, Cecilia (Duckett) Campbell of Norman.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at the Jesus Alive Evangelistic Church in Newcastle, OK. Burial will be at the Washington Cemetery in Washington, OK. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
