Herman Eldon Klepper

Herman Eldon Klepper age 83 of Washington, passed away Saturday, March 09, 2013 at the Veterans Center in Norman, OK.

He was born on April 15, 1929 in Union City, OK. He was the 6th child of ten children born to Herman Henry Klepper and Elsie Amelia (Jungherr). Herman grew up a farm boy living near Wheatland and Mustang, OK. Because he had to work on the farm, he only attended the Grand Valley School to the 8th grade.

He was later drafted into the U. S. Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He along with of his four brothers and five brother-in-law’s, they all served in the military. After being honorably discharged in 1952 he returned home to the OKC area and later met a young lady from Purcell. After falling in love, he married Betty Louise Dowdle on September 2, 1955 in OKC. Together they raised two sons, Mark and Keith. They lived in OKC for the next 16 years before moving to a small farm in Washington, OK in 1971. Herman worked 43 years for American Airlines at Will Rogers Airport in OKC. He retired in 1991as a Ground Crew Chief. Herman loved being in the outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed camping with his family and quail hunting. Throughout his life he enjoyed going to Lake Texhoma and striper fishing. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, his brothers and sisters and his grandchildren. As a patriotic veteran he was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Herman and Elsie Klepper, One brother: Raymond Klepper, One sister: Mildred Mussyal,

He is survived by: Wife: Betty of the home in Washington, Two sons: Mark Klepper and wife Debora of Washington, OK, Keith Klepper of Dallas. TX. Three grandchildren: Taleena Manning and husband Chris of Blanchard, Chris Klepper and wife Tara of Washington, Larissa Brown and husband Kurt of Washington, Three great grandchildren: Easton and Dawson Brown and Mikalya Manning, Three brothers: Harold Klepper of OKC, Donnie Klepper and wife Carolyn of Mustang, Roy Klepper and wife Pat of OKC, Four sisters: Ana Laura Henthorn of OKC, Dorothy Carpenter of OKC, Lorene Mussyal of OKC, Betty Porter and husband Curtis of Mustang, And many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 12, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington FFA program
