Pee Wee Jones, age 82 of Purcell, passed away Wednesday, November 06, 2013. Pee Wee was born June 16, 1931 in Iowa Park, TX, a twin and 1 of 5 children born to Carl and Zettie Jones. He spent his early childhood near Jumbo, OK. He graduated from Moyers High School in 1949. Pee Wee joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he returned home and married his true love, Lavene Coffman, on August 20, 1955 in Hugo, OK. They established their home in the Purcell-Washington area where together they raised their three children, Bruce, Claude and Kathy. Pee Wee worked in commercial construction for Barbour & Short for more than 40 years before retiring as construction superintendent. Pee Wee loved his family! He was a hard worker and a great provider. He cherished Lavene and was a wonderful father and grandfather. Pee Wee enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing or hunting. In his early years he enjoyed bull riding and later loved team roping with his family and friends. He enjoyed a good game of dominos and never missed an opportunity to catch up with his coffee drinking buddies at Woody Chapel or Ruby’s, or support the Washington Warriors at a sporting event. Pee Wee was a man of deep faith and a longtime member of the Criner United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by: His son, Claude Jones in February of 2012 and His parents, Carl and Zettie Jones two sisters, Estelle Whiteside and Dewayne Miller and four brothers-in-law, Herbert Whiteside, Glen Branton, Homer Miller and Loyd House.

Pee Wee leaves behind: His wife, Lavene of the home; His son, Bruce Jones and wife Janice of Oklahoma City; His daughter, Kathy Wallis and husband Dennis of Edmond; His daughter –in-law, Tracy Jones of Purcell; Twin brother, Hap Jones and wife Janice of Purcell; His sister, Jean Branton of Antlers, OK; His sister-in-law, Wilma House of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren, Trey & Gabe Jones, Teleigh Shaw & Jay Bowen and Chad Wallis; 4 great grandchildren, Tristan, Skyla and Gabbie Shaw, and Aiden Bowen, Many nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Claude Jones Memorial Fund at Washington Public Schools.
