Lewie Jeffries, age 80 of Washington, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020. Lewie Junior Jeffries was born July 22, 1940 in Buckhannon, West Virginia, the 5th of 9 children born to Lewie Franklin Jeffries and Pearl Frances (Ware) Jeffries. He was raised in Buckhannon and attended school there. Still a young man, Lewie answered the call to serve and joined the United States Navy, and served peacefully during the Cuban Crisis. When his service to his country was over, he answered the call on his heart, and surrendered his life to the ministry. Lewie attended Seminary at the Freewill Baptist Bible College in Nashville. He pastored his first church in Ohio in 1967, and went on to minister at churches in Ohio, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Lewie met the love of his life, Charlotte, while attending church. They fell in love and were married on June 15, 1962 in Lorain, OH. They eventually settled in Oklahoma where together they raised four daughters, Kimberly, Denise, Robin and Peggy. A bi-vocational pastor, Lewie also worked in code enforcement for the City of Norman, retiring in 2005. Lewie loved people, was always pestering someone and was quite the practical jokester. He loved 4-wheeling and traveling and was a member of the Mobile Villa RV Club. He loved anything and everything to do with horses, and enjoyed riding. He stayed active in his community and served any way he could. His final public service was serving as President of the Washington Senior Citizens. Lewie loved the Lord and he loved his family and this will be his lasting legacy. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His precious wife, Charlotte Ann Jeffries; His parents, Lewie Jeffries and Pearl Black; Sister, Helen Alicie and son-in-law, Greg Hayes.
