Ty Garett Hilderbrand, age 35 of Elkins, WV, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Ty was born December 9, 1985 in Norman, OK the third of four children born to John David Hilderbrand and Shawna Renee (Williams) Hilderbrand. Ty was raised in Purcell, OK where he attended school, graduating with the Dragon Class of 2004. He attended Cowley County Community College, and was never happier than the day his little brother, Eli, joined him there. Ty’s life would forever change when Eli passed away in a tragic accident. Although life was different for Ty, he pressed on. As a gifted and aspiring musician, he expressed himself by singing, playing guitar and writing poetry. When he sang, he touched everyone with the sound of his voice. He cherished his family, especially his children. Although his time with them was short, his playful nature with his nieces and nephews created memories that will last a lifetime. His most recent hobbies included martial arts, hiking and exploring the great outdoors of West Virginia. He was funny, witty and a true friend.
After recommitting his life to Christ, he became active in the Celebrate Recovery Program at his church, using his musical gifts to lead the team in worship. Rest in peace Ty; you have finished your race
