Orville Hendrix, age 78, of Washington, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Orville Levi Hendrix was born February 10, 1942 in Washington, Oklahoma, the 3rd of 10 children born to Daniel and Flora Bell Hendrix. He was raised in Washington and attended school there, graduating with the Warrior Class of 1961. Orville met a young lady from Purcell named Mary Taylor. He knew he found his best friend and life partner, and on May 26, 1962, Orville and Mary were married in Purcell. They made their home primarily in the Washington area where together they raised 3 children, daughter, Karla and sons, Eric and Jimmie. A jack of all trades, Orville worked a variety of jobs, and excelled in nearly everything he took on. He worked some in plumbing and spent a few years in the oil fields. He drove a truck for many years, hauling cars nationwide. When he wasn’t working, Orville enjoyed hunting and occasionally fishing. He enjoyed panning for gold, spent many a day playing dominos with his buddies and he never passed an opportunity to read a good book. He was always learning, always
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Daniel and Flora Bell Hendrix; a sister, Ella Hanner and a brother, Darrell Hendrix.
Orville is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Mary Hendrix of the home; his boys, Eric Hendrix and wife Lisa of Washington and Jimmie Hendrix of Washington; His daughter, Karla Hendrix of Washington; 2 sisters, Carolyn Hendrix of Washington and Julie Kelly Norman; 5 brothers, Birk Hendrix of Bowie, TX, Jerry Hendrix and wife Cathy of Washington, Lloyd Hendrix of Washington, Leon Hendrix of Norman and Carl Hendrix and wife Vanessa of Norman; 5 Grandchildren, Kaylin Langford and husband Zach of Weatherford, Emily Hendrix of Washington, Skyler Smith and husband Brandon of Norman, Sara Cate and husband Jesse of Noble and Jessica Blok and husband Nick of Prairie Grove, AR; 6 great grandchildren, Tatum, Minor, Gracie, Maddie, Kane and Kolby and a host of other family and friends
