Wally Givens age 50 of Moore passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born January 15, 1963 in Oklahoma City. He was the 5th child of six children born to Jerry Dale Givens and Barbara Ann (Adams) Givens. Wally grew up in the Tribbey and Wanette communities and graduated from Wanette High School in 1981. As a young man he enjoyed being outdoors and working on anything that ran on wheels. His first job was working for Padgham’s in Del City. He started work in the auto repossession business after this, and then went to work at Body Works, where he remained for several years. Eventually, he began working for himself in the repossession business again. Throughout his life, Wally loved customizing his cars, pickups and motorcycles. He greatly enjoyed doing outdoor sports like boating, fishing, hunting and four wheeling. In his later years his favorite pastime was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In 1986 Wally married Elizabeth Murphy. Together they raised three children, Ashley, Megan and Zachary. Wally loved his children and after they grew up, he couldn’t wait to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a wonderful brother and a good friend to all who knew him. He is survived by: His Children: Ashley Jaques and husband Aaron of Yukon, Megan Cozart and husband James of OKC, Zachary Givens of Moore, Devon Whaling of Tulsa, Three brothers: Coley Givens of Purcell, Jimmy Givens and wife Pam of MO, Jerry Givens and wife Starla of Wayne, Sister: Bobbi Hupp and husband Kenny of Marlow, Sister-in-law: Lisa Givens Heiskell of Tuttle, Four grandchildren: Rowan and Lakynn Jaques, Elijah and Lucas Cozart. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Union Hill Baptist Church in Purcell. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery.
