Dallas Police Officer, Senior Corporal Earl “Jamie” James Givens III was killed in the line of duty on July 21, 2019 while providing a police motorcycle escort for a funeral procession for a fallen officer. Jamie was assigned the DPD Traffic Unit Motorcycle Squad where he served with distinction and honor.
Jamie is survived by his beloved Cindy of the home, Mom, Delores Givens, Sister, Lourinda, and two sons Garret and Greyson.
Jamie had a passion and love for riding motorcycles. He shared his time with his fellow law enforcement motorcycle officers, his fellow Celtic Warriors, and the motorcycle club he founded and led for many years. Jamie worked in a variety of assignments in the Dallas Police Department devoting over 32 years of honorable service. He worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, in Mounted Horse Patrol, SWAT, and Motorcycle Officer. He was well respected by the Community he served. He always made time for the children, who were drawn to him and his bike or horse at the State Fair of Texas. Jamie was a Proud Sooner and graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He is also a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Jamie was a beloved family man, son, older brother, and community leader. He excelled in everything he did in life. His example and impact upon all of our lives will forever be remembered. Jamie lives amongst us in our hearts.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, July 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery in
Washington, OK. Local arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in
Purcell, OK.
