James “Willard” Fox, 76, of Washington OK passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, after a battle with colon cancer.
Willard was born September 12, 1940 in Norman, OK to James Leland and Laura Vanabell Berglan Fox. Willard graduated from Norman High School in 1958. In his youth Willard mowed lawns. As a teenager he worked for George Offenburger farming and then worked at the Clarence & Opha Boyd Dairy farm. He married Judith Ann Tullius July 7, 1957. As a young adult he worked in the state tree nursery office, then in the office at the Washington Cotton Gin. He worked in the office at OG&E from 1963-1973 (All this while farming). In 1973 the Willard Fox family was Farm Bureau Farm Family of the year. Willard farmed over 60 years, growing soybeans, cotton, alfalfa, corn, and wheat; and also raising cattle. In later years he enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at The Goldsby Store.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, James Leland Fox in 1993 and Laura Vanabell Berglan Fox in 1983; one brother, Dale Leland Fox in 1987; his Father-in-Law, Herb Tullius; Brother-in-Law, David Tullius; and Sister-in-Law, Sylvia Tullius.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Judy; two sons, Jeffrey Paul Fox and James Larry Fox; Granddaughters, Adrienne Fox and Kari Zimmerman and her husband, Shane; Grandsons, Jonathan Fox and Jared Fox; Sister-in-Law, Edith Fox; Nephews, Dennis Fox and Clonnie Fox and his wife, Debbie; Aunt, Wilma Berglan; Mother-in-Law, Etoyle Tullius; Sister-in-Law, Diane McCreight; and brother-in-law’s, Jerry Tullius and his wife, Rhonda and John Tullius and his wife, Gretta.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sherri Durica, Dr. John Robertson and their staff, as well as Clint and Steve with Life Spring Home Health, for the wonderful care given to Willard.
Viewing will be on Monday, June 5, 2017 with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Services will be on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home with burial to follow at Washington Cemetery, Washington, OK.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Willards name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
