Memorial Donation

Myrna June Dean met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5th, 2019. Myrna lived a long and happy life serving her Lord and raising her family.

She was born on January 20,1926  to Mary Beulah Bledsoe Marcum and James Grover Marcum,  in Washington Ok. She grew up on a farm in the Washington area. She graduated from Washington High School in 1944. After graduation she married her true love and best friend Odis Dean on June 16, 1945.  She was a homemaker, involved in her church activities and raising her two daughters. They lived 35 years in Washington, Oklahoma where Odis, Myrna and family were faithful members of the First Baptist Church and active in the community. Her daughters attended and graduated from Washington Schools.  Myrna was famous for her home made apple pies.  She loved gardening, canning her own produce, and sewing clothes for her daughters and herself.  After retirement Odis and Myrna moved to Mission, Texas to be near their oldest daughter and family. They enjoyed traveling and visited every state except Hawaii.  Myrna took up china painting and produced many excellent pieces of art. They were active members of McAllen First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by:  Her husband, Odis Dean.  Her parents. Three sisters, Jewel Moody, Mabel Covington, and Densel (Dee) Bowls. Two brothers, JG (Junior) Marcum, and Howard Marcum. Daughter; Patricia Ann Davis, Great granddaughter; Caroline Davis.

She is survived by: One daughter, Sherri Dean Traylor and her husband Leland of Pharr, Texas.  Four grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Grandson, Kenneth Davis and wife Gabrielle of College Station, Texas and their children Cody, Owen, Claire, Kate, Nathan, Jacob, and Cole. Grandson Eric Davis and wife Juanita of McAllen, Texas and their children Ethan, Rebekah, Rachel, Ruby and Rose. Grandson, Dean Traylor and his wife McKenzie of Volcano, Hawaii, and their son Brooks. Granddaughter, Pamela Traylor of Fairbanks Alaska.  One Brother, Norman Marcum and wife Sue of Topeka Kansas. Son-in-law, Boyd Davis and wife Linda of McAllen, TX. Sister-in-law, Sharon Marcum of Cushing Oklahoma. Also many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. 

A visitation with family and friends will be from 6-8pm Friday evening, April 12, 2019 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. 

Funeral services are 11am Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Washington First Baptist Church.  Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery. 

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington First Baptist Church.
