Carolyn Andrews Blubaugh, age 64 of Washington, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the Norman Regional Healthplex.
Carolyn Sue Andrews was born October 29, 1952 in Purcell, 1 of 10 children born to Jasper and Elsie Andrews. Carolyn was raised near Washington on the Andrews family farm. It was on this cotton/dairy farm that she learned about family, community, and the value of hard work . She attended Washington schools where she was a standout athlete and All Conference basketball player for the Lady Warriors, and graduated with the Class of 1970. Carolyn worked various jobs throughout her life. She was a Certified Barber and most recently, worked at LARC for the Department of Corrections in Lexington, retiring as Mail Room Supervisor. Carolyn was very close with her family, and during this time, she began working as a care giver for her mother. Her caring and genuine qualities allowed her to share this gift with others. On December 11, 2015, Carolyn married her longtime companion, Danny Joe Blubaugh in Goldsby. Although she never had any children, Carolyn was both, a mother and grandmother to nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She loved them all as her own. Carolyn was an avid college football fan and a converted Oklahoma State Cowgirl. She liked watching Thunder basketball and never missed an opportunity to go fishing. Carolyn loved writing and could share her heart intimately in her poetry. She was a blessing to many and will be dearly missed!
