Jo Ann (Jones) Penner Jones, age 73 of Lexington, passed from this life, Tuesday November 6, 2012. Jo Ann was born January 4, 1939 in Rosedale, OK, 1 of 10 children born to John Paul Jones and Nettie (Morrow) Jones.

Jo Ann was the wife of L.D. Jones. She and L.D. began their life together on January 6, 1997 and made their home in Lexington. Jo Ann was a very active person. She walked every day that she could. She enjoyed playing softball when younger. Jo Ann loved music, especially gospel and country. She loved to cook and her specialty was her pecan pies and Hello Dolly cookies. They were the best ever! Jo Ann would often say that she was blessed with many friends and family, and she loved to visit them as often as she could.

When she found out she was sick and the doctors told her what to expect, she began getting everything in order. Jo Ann said, “If God is ready for me, I am ready for him.”

Jo Ann is survived by:
Her husband, L.D. Jones of the home;
2 sons, Clifton Paul Penner of Rosedale and Chris Allen Penner of Farmington, NM;
8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren;
5 brothers, Junior Jones of Wayne, OK, David Jones of Wayne, Paul Jones of Paoli, Dickey Jones of Wayne and Jerry Jones of Wayne;
4 sisters, Sue Short of Broken Bow, OK, Lilly Dunkin of Wayne, Brenda Stringer of Davis and Debbie Green of Wynnewood;
Numerous nieces and nephews and host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Rosedale Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery.
