Betty Johns, age 82 of Rosedale, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Betty Laverne Hays was born February 7, 1938 in Rosedale, the younger of two daughters born to Charlie and Marion Hays. She was raised in Rosedale and attended school there. Betty married her childhood sweetheart, Bill Johns on August 21, 1954 in Purcell. They started their life together in Oklahoma City where together they raised two daughters, Donna and Debbie. Betty was a devoted wife and mother, and she was never happier then being a grandmother and great grandmother. She was an excellent cook and will be forever remembered for her fried chicken, her salsa and one of a kind peanut brittle. She enjoyed watching the birds and tending to her garden, and crocheting. Betty loved people, and she shared many of her gifts with her family and friends, always affirming her love for you, by saying, “I made this just for you”. She was a woman of great faith and longtime member of the Rosedale Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by:
Her parents, Charlie and Marion Hays and
Her sister, Mary Carol Shires.

Betty leaves behind:
Her husband, Bill Johns of the home.
Her daughters, Donna Akin and husband Kelly of Edmond and Debbie Ramsey and husband Rodney of Edmond.

Grandchildren and great grandchildren, Shawn Akin and wife Jennifer and their children, Emery, and twins, Joseph and Hannah; Jami Baker and husband Rigel and their children, Rylee and Ramsey; Ryan Akin and wife Jennifer and their children, Hudson and Jackson and Justin Ramsey and son, Jude.

Niece Terri Cates and husband Kyle of OKC and their children, Logan and Layne and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the Rosedale Cemetery.

The service will be live streamed on our Facebook page, Wilson Little.
