Roger Groff, age 51, of Wanette passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2023.

Roger Dustin Groff was born on June 30, 1972 in Purcell, Oklahoma, the baby of five children born to Maurice Allen “Buddy” Groff and Shirley Sue (Davis) Groff. He was primarily raised in Wayne, Oklahoma, where he attended schools and graduated with the Bulldog Class of 1990.

Shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp. Throughout his time as a Marine, he obtained the rank of Sergeant and served his country proudly.

One of his greatest accomplishments in life was becoming the proud father of his three boys- Kaelan, Riley, and Brody. They shared countless memories that will forever be cherished.

A little while later, he decided to go back to school to further his education. He obtained a Master’s degree at the University of Oklahoma, and this is where he found his calling to pursue a career as a social worker. He worked for several years at Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center until 2013, and more recently at Journey Therapeutic Services, touching the lives of many.

Roger later met his companion and life partner, Katie Jones, and his lovely step-daughters, Madison, Jolie and Jorja.

Roger was driven and dedicated to working hard every single day. He was very outgoing, and was always the life of the party everywhere he went. His goofy personality was infectious to everyone around him. Roger was always accepting of others, which is what allowed him to impact the lives of so many. More than anything, Roger was a family man. He loved spending time with his family, and truly cherished every moment with them. Roger was a loving father, step-father, PaPa, brother, uncle, and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Buddy and Shirley Groff.

Roger is survived by: his life partner, Katie Jones of Wanette; his three sons, Kaelan Groff (Sydnee) of Byars, Riley Groff (Shilo) of Purcell, and Brody Groff of Ada; step-daughters, Madison Jones of Missouri, Jolie Groff and Jorja Groff of Wanette; sisters, Laura Groff of Rosedale, Alleen Sharp of Rosedale, and Terrye Meyer of Wayne; brother, David Groff (Karen) of Wayne; five grandchildren, Hadley Mae, Lula Bell, Hudson Avery, Levi Blair, Lake Blu, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Rosedale Cemetery. www.wilsonlittle.com
