Ruthie Ann “Granny” VanSchuyver of Byars was born to J.M. and Effie Lee (Lucas) Woodward on December 26, 1950 in Norman, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on April 03, 2012 in Byars, Oklahoma.
Ruthie grew up in Noble, Oklahoma and graduated from Noble High School. She married A.C. VanSchuyver in Noble on November 20, 1970.
When her first son was born she decied she would be her children's primary caregiver so she proceeded to obtain her certification to have a licensed daycare center in her home. For 35 years her home was a beehive of activity as she molded little minds and lovingly prepared them for school and life. Ruthie's grandchildren were the highlight of her life. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and quilting. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Byars.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mason Woodward and a sister, Linda Woodward.
Ruthie is survived by her husband A.C. of the home. Her mother, Effie Lee Woodward of Noble. 2 sons: Dewayne VanSchuyver of Forney, Texas and Stephen VanSchuyver and Tasha of Rosedale, OK. 1 daughter, April Diana Watts and husband Billy of Wayne, OK. 1 brother, Johnny Woodward and wife Ann of Norman, OK. 3 sisters, Reba Baze of Noble, OK, Glenda Woods and husband Johnny of Norman, OK and Tommie Woodward of Noble, OK. 10 grandchildren: Cody, Ashley, Chandler, Hannah, Bradey, Emilee and Madysen VanSchuyver and Beth, Audra and William Watts.
