Ralph Edward "Bud" Simer, 74, died June 24, 2006 in Oklahoma City.

Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S. Western, Oklahoma City.

Simer was born on Jan. 15, 1932, in Newcastle to Marvin and Wilma (Stone) Simer. He married his sweetheart, Shirley, on Oct. 4, 1952.

Soon after, he served in the U. S. Army in Korea. When he returned, he worked for 18 years as an appliance serviceman for Bates & McKinzey. In 1974, he purchased the company with his son, renaming it Associated Appliance, Inc.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed bowling, woodworking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Mattie Simer; sister, Jean Hodges and brother, Jerry Simer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley; their son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Rita; daughter, Faye; and granddaughters, Sarah, Jennifer and Casey.
