Havenbrook Funeral Home
Norman, McClain Co, OK
(permission granted)

On Wednesday February 6th, 2019, Arthur Wayne Winn, loving husband and father, passed away.

Arthur was born January 31st, 1949 in Norman, Oklahoma to Arthur and Evelyn (Cline) Winn.

Arthur graduated from Norman High School in 1967. After graduation, Arthur was privileged to join the Marine Corps. While in the Marines, he was introduced to Nancy Howell. After separating from the Marines, he convinced Nancy, his wife of 47 years, to move to Oklahoma with him. Together they moved to Noble where they raised their two children. They later moved to Newcastle to enjoy their retirement years.

Prior to Arthur’s retirement he was proud of his work as a firefighter for the Norman Fire Department, a security guard at General Motors, and a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. Although he retired, he did not stop moving. In his retirement years, you could find him working in the yard, playing with his grandchildren, or watching sports. Despite graduating from OSU Technical School with an associate degree, Arthur was a diehard OU fan. People, who knew him, knew that most of his clothing was based on his Sooner pride. He loved to attend Oklahoma football, softball, and basketball games.

Arthur Wayne Winn was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tommy Ray Winn, and his sister Carolyn Marie Fore.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Nancy, his son Shannon, and his daughter Stephanie Ellis (spouse Nathan). He was blessed to have 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Please join us in honoring his memory and love of sports by wearing your favorite sports team to the service. Services will be Friday February 22 @ 2 pm @ Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman with interment to follow at Newcastle Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made in memory of Arthur Winn to St. Jude’s, which was a charity dear to his heart.

You may send online condolences to www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
