Albert Wilson was born on January 9, 1929 to parents James Calvin and Essie Belle Wilson in Oney, Oklahoma.

He passed away peacefully in the home he built in Newcastle surrounded by his family on June 12, 2023, at the age of 94.

Albert was many things, and most of them he passed on to one or more of the people listed above, but he was rarely idle. You were unlikely to find him indoors or with empty hands. While his greatest claim to fame was his near mythic status as the Peanut Brittle Man; he was also a gardener, a fisherman, a coach, an engineer whose weapons of choice were duct tape and baling wire, and even an artist. He worked for Humpty Dumpty grocery store for 36 years; however, his cupboards and freezers were regularly stocked with vegetables planted, picked, cleaned, and prepared by his own hands, catfish that he caught and cleaned himself, and pecans he collected and shelled from his own trees.

In addition to driving a bus for Newcastle Schools for 30 years, Albert was a selfless member of the community throughout his 60 years as a resident. He began coaching little league baseball in 1965; he loved to haul the entire team to small towns around Oklahoma in the back of his pickup. Albert was also Vice President of the Little League board that began football in Newcastle and served as the head coach of the very first 11 and 12 year old team that would go on to comprise the Freshman class of the very first Newcastle Racer High School Football Team.

Albert was the middle child of a large family, and is survived by one sister, Lois Tipton; his other three sisters and six brothers having also preceded him into rest.

Albert is survived foremost by his wife of more than 67 years, Betty Jean Wilson; as well as his son Steven Albert Wilson and his wife Malinda; Grandchildren Michael Wilson and his wife Sarah, Marcie Myers and her husband Jeff, Dylan Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Melissa Watts and her husband Taylor; and 8 Great-GrandChildren. He is preceded in death by his sons Jerry Don Wilson and James Lee Wilson and by great granddaughter Lillie Ann Myers.

Albert will be laid to rest on Thursday June 15th in Newcastle Memorial Gardens. Services will be held at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard at 2PM. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 11 to 8.

Services are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home, 2500 N Council Ave, Blanchard, OK 73010. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com
