Tommy Tucker, age 72 of Norman, went to be with the Lord, Saturday August 31, 2013.

Tommy Ray Tucker was born November 17, 1940, in Abilene, TX, to Marion Elijah Tucker and Flossie Jane (Stoddard) Tucker. He was raised in Abilene and attended Abilene schools, graduating in 1958. He then attended Hardin Simmons University. Tommy loved people and was a gifted salesman who greatly enjoyed meeting and visiting with people. Tommy began working in retail sales in 1957 for a local shoe company. Little did he know, this career would lead to more than 35 years with Famous Brand Shoes Co. Tommy married the love of his life; Janet Kay Fox on August 7, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. Tommy cherished Janet and they truly enjoyed working together. They made a formidable team. In 1986, they stepped out on their own, and opened the First Lady of Shoes in Lubbock, TX and operated it for 13 years. Tommy and Janet continued working together in real estate, known as “Team Tucker”. They were nationally recognized by Coldwell Banker and Re/Max Associates. Tommy was also recognized for his international sales experience. Tommy loved his life! He enjoyed his family and friends and cars. He enjoyed traveling with his brother and family, and he never missed an opportunity to buy into a good poker game. Tommy absolutely loved his dogs, Sugar and Spice. Tommy and Janet moved to Norman a little more than a year ago. Tommy began working for Mitchell's Jewelry in November of 2012. He was quoted as saying “Every person who walks through the doors is someone I want to help.” He enjoyed his work there greatly, and his gifts were appreciated and recognized. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him!

His parents; Marion and Baba Tucker;
Siblings, Aubrey Tucker, Wayne Tucker, Patricia Ramsey Curry and Ineta Grey and a brother-in-law, Charles Fox.

Tommy leaves behind:
His wife, Janet, of the home;
Son, Chad Tucker and wife Debbie of Lubbock, and
Daughter, Julie Tucker Nitke of Lubbock;
Children he claimed as his own, Mike Loveless of Newcastle,
Jana Mahoney and husband John of Edmond,
Gina Mitchell and husband Newt of Norman, OK and
Dr. Steve Nitke of Abilene;
His brother, Ret. Lt. Col. Billy Tucker and wife P.J. of San Antonio;
Brother-n-law, Jim Fox and wife Terri of Newcastle;
Sister-in-law, Lou Fox of Ozark, MO;
Grandchildren, Skylar Nietcsh, Taylor Nietcsh, Ashleigh Jones, Michelle Mahoney, Eric Mahoney and Cloie Mitchell;
Great grandchildren, Cooper Loveless and Breiton Nietcsh;
Nephews, Seth and Jason Ramsey, Josh Tucker;
Good Friend, who was like a brother, Gabby Ghandour of Lubbock;
Special friend, Dolorus Housh of Newcastle, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project @ P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
