Jeffrie Alan Thompson, age 61 and a life-long resident of Newcastle, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, March 9, 2018.

Alan was born on March 6, 1957 in Oklahoma City to his parents Harlus and Shirley Thompson. Alan, a proud Racer, attended Newcastle schools from 1st grade until his graduation in 1975.Alan was a founding member of the Newcastle Education Foundation. His artistic abilities is portrayed in his drawing of the Foundation’s logo.

Alan was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, his grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

He loved his two children, Sara and Chase and enjoyed watching them mature into young adults. He was a devoted grandfather to Callie and Landyn and enjoyed sitting together on the porch swing or riding the riding lawn mower with them. His quick wit coupled with remembering everybody he met allowed him to be a friend to all. Alan enjoyed high school reunions and other social events, always involving friends and family.

Alan enjoyed the variety of life. It was evident in the years of Harley riding with Karen and traveling to Eureka Springs with friends. His first job out of high school was as a member of Governor David Boren’s Security Detail. He had numerous occupations from the auto industry, regional food sales, to healthcare. He eventually worked as a private investigator and had his own lawn service business. Alan will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the National Kidney Foundation in honor of Alan.

Alan is survived by:
His devoted, loving partner, Karen Reddout Berry of Blanchard,
One daughter,Sara Marie and Chris Selzler of Newcastle,
One son, Chase Alan and Tayler Thompson of Bridge Creek
Grandchildren, Callie and Landyn Thompson of Bridge Creek,
Father, Harlus of Newcastle,
Brother, Gary and Carol of Newcastle,
Nephews, Brent and Chris of Newcastle, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle.

Burial will follow at Newcastle Memorial Gardens.
