Larry Ray Sutterfield Sr. age 72 of Newcastle, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his home following an extended illness fighting cancer.

Larry was born September 24, 1944 in Oklahoma City. His parents were Thomas Junior Sutterfield and Evelyn Eula Yandle. Larry grew up in South OKC and graduated from S. E. High School with the class of 1962. Eight months later he married Barbara Ann Woodmansee. They were married on January 14, 1963, in Oklahoma City. Larry and Barbara together raised four children, Vickie, Larry Jr., Lisa and Christy. They lived in OKC until 2007, at that time they moved to Newcastle. Larry worked 17 years in the maintenance department for Oklahoma City Community College. After retiring from OCCC he moved to Newcastle and worked at the Newcastle Casino for 10 years. When he was younger, Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. Throughout his life he was an avid O. U. fan and most recently became an OKC Thunder fan. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Also a dear friend to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Two brothers, Ronnie and Jimmy; Two sisters, Doretha and Sherri;

He is survived by: Wife, Barbara Sutterfield of the home; Four children, Vickie Hensley and husband Andy of Newcastle, Larry Sutterfield Jr. of OKC, Lisa Mears and husband Mike of Newcastle, Christy Smith and Perry Barkley of Newcastle; Four sisters, Paulette, Kay, Linda and Vada; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one on the way;

Graveside funeral services will be 10:00am Friday, August 25, 2017 at Newcastle Memorial Gardens in Newcastle, OK.
