Claude Earl Stiner, 82, was carried from this world in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 16, 2020. Born near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on January 16, 1938 to Robert Otto and Willie Stiner, Claude was one of twelve children. He attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City, where he met and eventually married the love of his life, Sunny K. Morgan, on June 10, 1957. After living briefly in Portland, Oregon, Claude and Sunny returned to Oklahoma City and went on to become parents to four children to whom they devoted all their love and attention. Claude worked for the City of Oklahoma City for 30 years as a code enforcement officer. After a courageous battle with an enemy who had never expected so determined an adversary, Claude departed this life embraced by his wife, children and grandchildren. A soul seldom departs this earth surrounded by as much love and admiration. He will be remembered as profoundly humble, devoted, always willing to help those in need, a man who never quit, a mentor who taught his children and grandchildren all he knew. His charm, honest observations and biting, but witty commentary left all who knew him looking forward to the next time they would see him. They will see him again. Claude was preceded by his parents, brothers Willis, Floyd, Edmond, and Robert, and sisters, Dean Jones, Pauline Baker, Faye Skaggs, Reta Gaona, and Marie Dunham. He is survived by his wife, Sunny Stiner of Tuttle, his children, Alan (and Robin) Stiner, of Topeka, Kansas, David Stiner of Oklahoma City, John (and Ashley) Stiner of Arcadia, and Amy (and Tim) Brock of Newcastle, his grandchildren, Savanah (and John) Stanley of Houston, Texas, Eric (and Lauren) Stiner of Austin, Texas, Kadie (and Darrell) Huffman of Topeka, Kansas, Brady (and Taylor) Brock of Moore, Oklahoma, Emilee and Avery Brock of Newcastle, Nora, Brennan and William Stiner of Arcadia, seven great-grandchildren and another on the way, and by his brother Preston of El Reno and sister Ruth Skaggs of Atlanta.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Newcastle Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Home or Samaritan’s Purse
