Debbie Scott age 48 of Newcastle, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center. She was born on November 23, 1964 in Oklahoma City, OK. Debbie was the youngest of three daughters born to James Edward Ferguson and Carole Lynn (Harryman). She grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1983. Two years later on August 24, 1985, Debbie married the love of her life, Jay Don Scott. Together Debbie and Jay made their home in Newcastle where they raised three children, Morgan, Meghan and Justin. Debbie loved being a homemaker and a stay at home mom while her children were growing up. However for the past 11 ½ years she has also worked outside of the home as an Insurance Agent. For ten years she worked for her father at the Heart of Oklahoma Insurance Agency in Purcell and for the past year and half she has worked for her uncle Doug in Newcastle at the Harryman Agency. You could always count on Debbie when you had a need for anything. Debbie devoted her life to her family, to her church and to her job. She enjoyed helping and following her children in all of their school activities including the Newcastle FFA. For many years she volunteered at the Bonus Auctions and had served as Treasurer of the Newcastle FFA Parents Club. Whatever her children were doing, Debbie was there for them. Debbie had been a member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church for nearly 38 years. Her love for babies and young children in the church was her calling from God. For many years during the worship services on Sunday and Wednesday nights, Debbie counted it a privilege to babysit and took care of “Jesus's Little One’s”. Throughout her life, Debbie enjoyed camping with her family, fishing, boating and being in the outdoors. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
