Eddie Frank James, 37, of Coalgate, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Alex, Oklahoma. The son of Cynthia Ann (Henderson) James and Alfred Dail James, Jr., he was born September 19, 1976 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Eddie graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1995 and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He continued his studies at East Central University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education Technology. Eddie taught computer science at Coalgate High School for the past 10 years and was a member of Coalgate United Methodist Church. Eddie had a tremendous impact on his students, fellow teachers, and everyone he met. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flying remote control airplanes. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nellie and Al James, Sr., and his maternal grandfather, Willard Henderson, Sr.
Eddie is survived by his parents, Cindy and Al James, Jr. of Alex; one brother, Dail James and wife, Janice, of Norman; two nephews, A.J. and Kohl James; one niece, McKenzie James, all of Norman; his maternal grandmother, Jewel Henderson of Bethany; aunts and uncles, Will and Sarah Henderson of Blanchard, and Terrie and Don Hardin of Bethany; numerous cousins; and many other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Coalgate United Methodist Church in Coalgate. Graveside service and burial will be at 3:00 PM at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens in Newcastle. Memorial donations may be made to the Youth/Camp Fund, Coalgate United Methodist Church, 106 North Newell St., Coalgate, OK 74538.
