Leo Dwaine Gossman, 78, of Newcastle, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 16, 2024, in his home in Newcastle. The son of Floyd Jefferson Gossman and Helen Louise (Warren) Gossman-Jarvis, Leo was born in Yukon on August 10, 1946.
Leo began his own company in 1971 when he borrowed a small loan from his own mom and opened G and G Concrete Construction Company. The company remains strong today, being ran by Leo’s sons Michael and Todd. Leo married Charlotte Ann Gossard 31 years ago. They have both been active members of Maranatha Baptist Church in Bethany for many years. Leo was a strong man of faith and a devout Christian.
Leo enjoyed watching softball and baseball, especially OU’s teams. He also loved sprint car racing. He raced and supported Michael and several others in their racing. He coached both of the boys baseball and football teams when they were younger. Leo was a hard worker, but also a loving dad. He loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He was very vested in supporting Madison with her softball. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Carolyn Sue Sellers.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Charlotte Gossman of Newcastle; two sons, Michael Gossman and wife April of Newcastle and Todd Gossman of Warr Acres; five grandchildren, Megan Gossman, Brittany Gossman and significant other, LaVelle O’Kelley, Troy Gossman, Maddison Gossman and Otto Gossman; six great grandchildren, Caleb Jones, Maddison Gossman-Vaughn, Cayla Gossman, Troy Gossman, Carson Gossman, and Kylyn O’Kelley; one brother, Cleo Gossman; two sisters, Bonnie Benine and Marilyn Kierwa; nephew who was like a son to him, Robert Sellers; and mother-in-law, Tammy Clevenger who the family would like to thank for her help in caring for Charlotte and Leo; and several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Leo’s service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Bethany. Interment will follow in the Newcastle Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
