Alvin Kenneth “Ken” Chism passed away 27 Jul 2014 at the Veterans Center, Norman, OK. He was 82 years old.
Alvin was born in Pharaoh, OK on 11 Feb 1932 to Alvin and Norman Chism. He was their only child. He attened school in Pharoah and lived there until after he graduated high school when he joined the Army and served for two years. After leaving the army he went to work for The Daily Oklahoman for thirty-three years as a pressman. He enjoyed working on cars and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Durscilla; his son John and wife Toni; his daughters Mary Ziomke and husband Michael and Patricia Clark. His adopted daughters, Annette Hamons and husband Quincy, Cherise Bowen and Linda Chism. Stepsons: Mike McCurdy and wife Sherri and Max McCurdy; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his prents; daughter, Chris Chism; son, Mike Chism; and granddaughter Jennifer Perrin.
Services will be held at 10 am on Friday 01 Aug 2014 at Lynlee Mae Chapell, Moore, OK
Interment will be at 1 pm Friday 01 Aug at Newcastle Memorial Cemetery, Newcastle, OK
