Linda Spencer age 69 of Wayne, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Anthony Hospital in OKC after a brief illness. She was born January 22, 1947 in Hugo, Oklahoma.

She was the oldest of three children born to Homer Lester Miller and Lillian Dewayne (Jones) Miller. While Linda was growing up she attended 13 schools in 11 years. She skipped the 8th grade and graduated from Rattan High School in 1964 at the age of 17. After high school she attended Cosmetology school in Muskogee, OK and became a licensed cosmetologist. While in school she met and later married James Edward Spencer Sr. They were married on April 22, 1967 in Stigler, OK. Together Linda and James raised two children, James Jr. “Jim” and Randi Rae. After they were married they lived in Muskogee for two years before moving to Purcell in 1970. Then in 1974 they moved to Wayne, OK. Linda worked as a hair dresser for many years before going to work at the Wayne Mid-America Technology Center. While at the Vo-tech center she taught Cosmetology and worked for the school for over 20 years before retiring in 2007. Linda had a servant’s heart of giving of her time and doing for others. She was a faithful Christian and member of the Rosedale First Baptist Church. She loved staying actively involved in her children and grandchildren’s activities. She loved traveling and was always willing to go on a new adventure. She enjoyed being outdoors and especially enjoyed keeping her yard in shape. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her award winning coconut cream pies, which she passed the recipe down to her granddaughters. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and Nana. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Homer and Dwain Miller; Husband, James Spencer Sr; Brother, Sammy Ray Miller;

She is survived by: Daughter, Randi Nabors and husband Smitty of Durant, OK; Son, James Spencer Jr. and wife Racquel of Wayne, OK; Four grandchildren, Kyle and Jonna Nabors, Peyton and James Spencer; Brother, Randall Miller and wife Jo of Ft. Towson, OK; Two nephews, Clint Miller and wife Lindsay of Frogville, OK, Brett Miller and wife Melissa of Ft. Towson, Uncles and aunts, Hap and Janis Jones of Purcell, Lavene Jones of Purcell, Jean Branton of Antlers; Also many cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.

Interment will be at Hopping Cemetery in Wayne, OK. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com
