Bat Norman, age 45 of Wayne, passed away Sunday April 12, 2015. Batiste Lee Norman was born June 15, 1969 in Lawton, OK. His parents were Leland Thomas Norman and Brownell (Brown) Norman. He spent his early childhood in Oklahoma City before moving to Wayne where he attended school. While in school, he participated in sports, and his first love was football. Bat worked for many years at J. L.’s Tire Shop in Norman. He began as a laborer and worked his way up through the years to shop manager and supervisor. Bat was an avid football fan, of both the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He rarely missed a game. Bat was a competitor. In 2005, Bat participated in the Oklahoma State Arm Wrestling Championship and he came home the Champion. Bat loved his family was a good friend to many. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His father, Leland Norman and His grandparents, Sellman and Gladys Brown. Bat leaves behind: His mother, Brownell Mata of Purcell; His daughter, Laci Norman of Oklahoma City; Son, Jonathan Webb of Purcell; Sisters, Dionne Norman of Oklahoma City and Charlene Norman of Norman; Brother, Ruben Mata of Wayne; Several aunts and uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2015, at the Memorial Assembly of God Church at 701 W. Monroe in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hopping Cemetery in Wayne under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home.
