Emma Gene (Longacre) Lack, age 69 of Wayne, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012. Emma was born July 5, 1942 in Maysville, OK to Carlos Dillon Longacre and Emma Elzada (Finley) Longacre. She was raised in the Pauls Valley and Sulphur communities and attended school there.
She met a young man from Sulphur named Charles Vaughn Lack. They fell in love and were married on November 16, 1962 in Sulphur. Together they raised 4 children; son, Dean and daughters Anita, Linda and Shana. Emma worked various little jobs during her life, but her first priority and greatest joy came from being a homemaker. She cherished her family and worked hard to be a good wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and was very gifted in crocheting and embroidery work. Emma loved a good book, working crossword puzzles and never missed an opportunity to watch a John Wayne movie. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the Wayne First Baptist Church where she also enjoyed meeting with her Sunday School Ladys. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: Her daughter, Anita Ridenour; An infant daughter, Sharon Ann Lack; Her parents, Dill & Emma Longacre and Her siblings, J.C. Longacre, Bobby Joe Longacre and Goldie Pierson.
Emma leaves behind: Her husband of nearly 50 years, Charles Lack, of the home; Her son, Dean Lack and wife Angie of Wayne; 2 daughters, Linda Lack Holder of Norman and Shana Denise Lack of Wayne; Her brother, Jack Good of Medford, OK; 10 grandchildren, Brandy Potts Privett, Charles Tinker, Benny Tinker, Jessicah Tinker, Alexander Holder, Austin Lack, Hannah Lack, Dillon Lack, Ashtin Lack & Ethan Meeks; 13 great grandchildren, Brandon, Kolton, Shelby, Dominic, Sabina, Kaylee, Makayla, Bowen, Dale, Zack, Nita, Jo Jo and Caydon; 1 great great grandson, Bentley Chase Potts and Many other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Wayne. Burial will follow at the Hopping Cemetery in Wayne.
