Linda Jean Hoffman, age 78, of Wayne, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the Grace Living Center in Norman. Linda was born February 6, 1938 in Yuma, Arizona, 1 of 11 children born to George Dewey Huffman and Emma (Awalt) Huffman. A daughter of a sharecropper, Linda and family moved a lot during her childhood, following wherever work would take them. Linda married the love of her life, a young man named James Henry Hoffman on April 1, 1957 in Yuma. Together they raised two sons, Tony and Adam. Linda stayed at home raising the boys, while James drove the country as a truck driver. They later moved to Oklahoma in the mid 1980’s, eventually settling in Wayne a couple years ago. She enjoyed arts and crafts and quilting. Linda loved being outdoors, and especially tending to her flower gardens. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and tendered many hours working with under privileged children. She was wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, George and Emma Huffman and 7 brothers, Munzell, Elmo, Alvin, J.D., Kenneth, Carl and Albert.
Linda leaves behind: Her husband, James Hoffman of the home; Her sons, Tony Hoffman and wife Tammi of Wayne and Adam Hoffman and wife Brenda of Rockaway Beach, MO; 2 brothers, Don Huffman of Carnegie, OK and Randy Huffman and wife Shirley of Eugene, OR; Her sister, Barbara Saunders and husband Carl of Narrows, VA; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and A host of other family and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the Hopping Cemetery near Wayne. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell. Send online condolences @ wilsonlittle.com
