Betty Boydston passed away at her home in Wayne, Oklahoma on August 19, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty Marie Lindsey was born on August 26, 1939 to George Clifford and Perlie Mae (Caldwell) Lindsey in Wynnewood, Ok and was the seventh of ten children. She grew up a farm girl, picking cotton with her family.

She met the love of her life Jerald Dewayne Boydston and the two were married on June 7, 1958. Together they had four children, Gary, Glen, Jerry, and Debra. Betty worked tirelessly for her family around the home and in the garden. She loved tending to her flowers, writing poetry, and singing. She was an excellent cook, known for her tasty chocolate chip cookies, jellies, and canned vegetables- which earned her the name “pickle lady.Ý Betty also enjoyed camping and fishing with her friends and family. Betty’s love and care for others was put to good use in the years she spent nursing and tending to the residents of several nursing homes, and the State School at Pauls Valley where she retired from after eleven years of service. She was a member of the Wayne United Methodist Church and cherished the time she spent there. She will be dearly missed.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearlie Lindsey, her siblings David Lindsey, Alford Lindsey, Joseph Lindsey, Georgia McCarty, Sylvia Kraft, Billie Oliver, and Margaret Winchester. And her son Gary Boydston.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dewayne Boydston of the home. Brother Jimmy Lindsey, and sister Mary Colson. Children, Glen Boydston of Wayne, Jerry and Louise Boydston of Purcell, and Debra and Curtis Craig of Asher; Grandchildren Darren, Cristina, Melissa, Amanda and Christopher, and Great Grandchildren Coltin, Cianna and Cason; Great Grandchildren Keeli, Zoey and Corrin; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
