Lucille Woods, age 83 of Wayne, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Noble Health Care Center. She was born July 16, 1930 in Washington, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of six children born to Charles Gordon Burton and Lottie (Fox) Burton. Lucille grew up a farm girl living in the Washington, Blanchard and the Newcastle communities. She graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1947. Lucille later met and married a young farmer from Wayne by the name of James Glenn Woods. Together they raised one son, Michael and farmed in the Wayne community all of their married life. Lucille worked as a farmer’s wife, homemaker and later outside the home as a Secretary. For a short time she worked in the McClain Co. Court Clerk’s office, then for Wayne Schools in the superintendent and principal’s office. Lucille was a faithful Christian and attended the 9th and Pierce Church of Christ in Purcell for many years. In her younger years on the farm, she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. In her later years after her health began to fail, Lucille moved to the Noble Health Care Center in Noble. For the past 19 years she has been loved and cared for by her Noble Health Care Family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Charles and Lottie Burton; Husband, Glenn Woods; Two sisters, Alline Chandler and Arnita Thompson; Two brothers, Gerald and Harold Burton;

She is survived by: Son, Michael Woods and wife Donna of North Tazewell, VA; Sister, Norma Jean Ivey and husband Bob of OKC; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving family members.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell
