Mary Ann Williams, age 60 of Purcell passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 22, 2014 at her home. She was born May 2, 1954 in Purcell. Mary was the 5th child of 10 children born to Clyde Luvean Lindsey and Ethel Lucille Pauline (Granger) Lindsey. She grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School in 1972. That next year she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, David Lynn Williams. They were married on September 7, 1972 in Mesquite, TX. Together Mary and David remained living in the Purcell area and raised two children, David Keith and Sherri Dyan. Mary worked as a homemaker and had various jobs throughout her life. She had worked at the Purcell Tasty Freeze, Ace Hardware and at the Norman Postal Training Center. In 1998 she and David purchased Tom William’s Poly line business and began working together. They renamed the business which is known today as D. Williams Pipe Inspection & Poly Line Company Inc. of Purcell. Mary loved being outdoors and in her young married years she played on a women’s softball team with her sisters and on a coed softball team. She liked playing tennis, swimming, fishing with David and working in her flower beds. She also loved listening to music and making crafts. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: Mother, Ethel Lindsey; Daughter, Sherri Dyan Williams; Niece: Cassie Lindsey; She is survived by: Husband, David Lynn Williams of the home; Father, Clyde L. Lindsey of Purcell; Son, David Williams & wife Alicia of Purcell; 4 Sisters, Letha Williams & husband Lloyd of Purcell, Patsy Lindsey of Purcell, Sharon Jett & husband Scott of Velma, Shirly Christian & husband Danny of Norman; 5 Brothers, Clyde D. Lindsey & wife Lynne of Purcell, Richard Lindsey & wife Pam of Durant, Dennis Lindsey & wife Debra of Purcell, Ronnie Lindsey of Norman, Eddie Lindsey & wife Pam of OKC; 3 Grandchildren: Madison, Tyler & Bradley Williams; Mother-In-Law: Wanda Williams of Purcell; Many Nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Memorials may be made to the Purcell Baseball/Softball Assoc. @pbsassoc@gmail.com.
