Patsy Ann Whitfield age 77 of Purcell, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at
Purcell Municipal Hospital. She was born April 13, 1936, in Pauls Valley,
Oklahoma. She was the youngest child of five children born to John Hugo
Deaville and Rilla Lucinda (McCracken) Deaville. Patsy grew up a farm girl
living in Byars, Oklahoma. She graduated from Byars High School in 1954 and
two years later, on September 28, 1956, she married a young man from
Rosedale, OK, Alvin Max Whitfield. Together they made their home in Purcell
and raised one son, Michael. Patsy started her working career at the McClain
County Court House. She later went to work for the Purcell Public Schools
where she was a secretary in the Superintendent office for many years. In
the 1980s she became the director of the Indian Education Program at Purcell
Schools where she later retired. Patsy loved being in the outdoors and
spending time fishing with her family. For many years, the family enjoyed
going to Lake Texoma. She also enjoyed playing bingo and listening to
country music. Most of all, Patsy cherished and loved spoiling her two
grandsons. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by: Husband: Alvin Whitfield of the home in Purcell Son:
Michael Whitfield and wife Mary Brett of Columbus, Ohio Two grandsons: Max
and Kevin Whitfield of Ohio One brother-in-law: Woody Woodley of Texas One
sister-in-law: Riva Deaville of Illinois Several nieces and nephews and a
host of friends
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 3,
2013, at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK.
