Mildred Louise Harper Wells was born December 6, 1933, to Benjamin Franklin and Priscilla Belle Jordan Harper in the Fox Community, near Purcell, Oklahoma.
She was the fourth of five girls Vera Harper Rassmussen, Margie Harper Bebout, Benlean Harper Mayo, and Ila Harper Hudson. During her childhood years she lived near Ray Jones Corner, in the Fairview Community and ultimately the Woody Chapel area where she attended school in Washington. In 1948 the family moved to Purcell and in 1949 she began dating RL Wells. They were married September 2, 1950, in a small wedding. After a honeymoon in Lawton, OK they established residency 8 miles north of Lindsay on State HWY 59B, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Mildred worked extensively on the farm alongside her husband raising wheat, alfalfa hay, cattle, and horses. She also worked seasonally at the Roy Wilson Carpet factory. Mildred was the loving mother of Ricky, Kenny, and Lisa Wells. A grandmother to Russell, Clint and Brecca and great grandmother to Landon, Hudson, and Conner. She lived a life built on faith in God, love, determination, hard work, and fierce loyalty; a legacy she leaves to her family and to those she touched in her 89 years on this earth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, RL Wells, and son, Ricky Wells.
Mildred left behind, two children, Kenny Wells (Resa), Lisa Wells (Doug); three grandchildren, Russell Wells (Mindy), Clint Wells, Brecca Dressler (Mark) and three great grandchildren, Landon Wells, Hudson Dressler and Conner Wells, one sister, Ila Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
