Sally Tucker, age 86 of Purcell, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
Sally Beth Pace was born July 11, 1930 in Comanche, OK, the older of 2 children born to Inez Sybil (Jones) Pace Wilson. She was raised in Comanche and attended school there, graduating in 1947. As fate would have it, and at the insistence of her mother, she agreed to meet a young serviceman, who was serving in the United States Coast Guard. His name was Cecil Carl Tucker and it was love at first sight. They fell in love and were united in marriage on April 6, 1951. They made their home primarily in Purcell, where together they raised 4 children; sons, Rick and Dan and daughters, Patti and Pam. Sally worked as an Office Assistant for the doctors and Unit Clerk for many years at the Purcell Hospital. She also helped Cecil in the family business at the Kerr McGee Station, as well as running her own clothing store, the Brass Monkey. In their day, Cecil and Sally loved to go square dancing together. And as time passed by, they continued dancing at the Senior Citizens dances. Sally loved all things OU, and would watch or listen to nearly every game of football to softball. Sally cherished her family. She had remarkable fashion sense, great taste and she loved spoiling her grandchildren, while passing on some of these traits. She was a longtime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell. She will be dearly missed!
