Bonnie Doris Burnley Cochran Tenpenny, 87 of Norman, OK, parted this life to be with her Heavenly Father on February 16, 2020 at South Park East Nursing Home in Oklahoma City.

Doris was born November 13, 1932 in Doddsville, MS along with her twin brother Doug. The youngest of 8 children, her parents were Henry C and Cora C. Burnley. In 1935, her family moved from Mississippi to the Shreveport, LA area, where her father “Daddy Burnley” became a sharecropper. Their were 3 adults and 6 children all in a Model A car, which was one of her twin brother Doug’s most memorable memory. She attended Adkins grade school and graduated from Byrd High School in 1951. Doris went on to college as a Baptist Bible school in Dallas, TX. In 1952 she met and married William ‘Bill’ Cochran of Pawnee, Oklahoma, who was stationed at Barksdale Air Force base in Bossier City, LA. On March 19, 1955, their first son Steven Douglas Cochran was born. In 1958 after Bill was discharged from the Air Force, they moved to Oklahoma City, OK. On February 21, 1960 their second son, Max Lee Cochran was born. After she and Bill Cochran divorced in February of 1971, Doris chose to stay in Oklahoma. She met and married Aubrey D. Tenpenny of Moore, OK in 1972 and they made their home there. Doris became a Para-Legal and worked for several prominent law firms in the OKC area. She was a member of Southern Hill Baptist Church in South OKC. She loved gardening, cleaning, serving at her church and enjoying her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mamaw”.

She was preceded in death by:

Her parents; Husband, Aubrey; Son, Steve Cochran

Her sisters, Ruby Brasfield, SallyAnn Thompson, Nadine Ranger; Lois Taylor

Her brothers, Percy Burnley, Sammy Burnley 

She is survived by:

Her twin brother Douglas Burnley and wife Patricia of Shreveport, LA

Son, Max Cochran and wife Paula of Norman, OK

Daughter-in-law, Suzanne Swenson and Husband David of Edmond, OK

Grandsons, JT Cochran and David Paul Cochran both of Edmond, OK;

          Alicia Parrack of Hereford, TX;

          Matthew Lee O’Hair of Laverne, OK;

          Tyson Cochran of Midwest City, OK

          Chanse Hart of Mesa, AZ;

13 Great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Funeral Service are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel, Purcell, OK.

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, OK.
